Crystal Paperweights

I’m not always the most organized person but when it comes to my desk I like everything in its place. I tend to create stacks of paper (yes, even in this digital age) and it only takes a couple people walking by my desk or the breeze from an open window to send my neatly stacked papers into a complete mess. That’s when I decided to try out a couple of our crystal paperweights. I had always considered a paperweight something of the past, something you would only see on the desk of an ad exec in a Mad Men episode. Boy, was I wrong. These things are the best invention since…the rock?

Custom Engraved Coffee Mugs

In addition to our best selling Bistro Mug we have introduced  the new 16 ounce Java Mug which is perfect for that morning coffee routine we all enjoy. This new custom engraveable coffee mug measures six inches tall and has a generous handle on it for those of us with big hands.  It is available in four colors including black, cobalt, maroon and green. These mugs can be purchased blank or they can be custom engraved with logos such as a restaurant, coffee shop, college and any custom graphic design you can possibly come up with.

Another new coffee mug style we have this year is what we like to call the Campfire Mug. This mug design harkens back to the days of the old metal coffee mugs that would be include in Boy Scout, Army and camping mess kits. This coffee mug is available in five colors and all have a white interior except for the green which has a matching green on the inside of the mug.

If these mugs are a little out of the price range for your customers you might want to consider looking at our screen printed coffee mugs. These are all the same styles as our engraved mugs but can be screen printed with you custom graphic or logo. The custom printing can have multiple colors so it gives the mug a mug different look as well as lowers the price a little bit.

Cobalt Is The New Black

Cobalt is the new black…as least for this year’s newest and hottest crystal awards. A pair of new additions to the Glass Graphics 2011 catalog is the J36 Crystal Teardrop Award and the J39 Crystal Cathedral Award, both on beautiful cobalt blue crystal bases. Both of these new crystal awards make great gifts or awards for employee recognition, top charity fundraisers or even thank you gifts to your best customers or suppliers.

At first glance, they appear to be rather simple awards but the recipient is sure to be impressed when they see the beauty of the crystal and their name custom engraved on the award. Both awards have a flat front but are beveled on the back side which helps to reflect the cobalt blue color of the base to other parts of the award depending on how the lights hits it. The Stars Are Aligned

Whether you want to award your star employees, your star customers or your star students Glass Graphics offers a wide range of glass and crystal star awards. One of our newest crystal star awards is the J34 Crystal American Star on a black glass base. This crystal award measures 6.25″ high. It has an engraving area on the glass base of 3″ x 1.25″ high making it ideally suited for engraving your company logo or the recipients name and the award name. As always, you can submit the artwork to be engraved or one of our talented graphic designers can design something for you. I particularly like this award as it reminds me of the “lone star” seen all over Texas. Crystal Star Award

From Beginning To End

Many of you never get a chance to visit our production facility so today I thought I’d take you through the order process from beginning to end.

  1. The order arrives at Glass Graphics via phone, email, fax or our new web site.
  2. A copy of the order goes to the warehouse so the blank glass or crystal can be pulled from the shelves.
  3. Another copy of the order goes to our art department so a proof can be created if one isn’t provided by the customer.
  4. The proof is then sent to the customer for approval.
  5. Once approval is received, the art department prints the art on velum.
  6. The velum is then used to create the masking film.
  7. The masking is then pressure washed on these drums. The washing removes the part of the masking that will create the design on the glass to be engraved.
  8. The masking is then removed from the drums and put in the heat box for drying.
  9. An adhesive is then sprayed on the masking so it can be attached to the glass/crystal to be engraved.
  10. The masking is then cut into individual pieces.
  11. Guidelines are then drawn on the blank glass and the masking attached.
  12. The remainder of the glass is then masked with tape to insure no damage is done during the engraving/sand blasting process.
  13. The items are then taken to the engraving/sand blasting station.
  14. The items are then moved to the washing station where the masking and tape is removed then run through the washing machine and given a final inspection.
  15. The items are then moved to the shipping department where they are carefully packaged and prepared for shipment to the customer.
